Monitored Alarm Systems

With a Contact Security monitored alarm system we know when your alarm system is activated. We receive a message from your system instantly so we can act fast.

When did you last take action upon hearing an alarm? These days, alarms are sadly often ignored. And if your premises are away from passers-by or it’s the middle of the night, a response is even less likely. What’s more, to overcome unnecessary call-outs caused by false alarms, the police tend to respond when there’s confirmation of a break-in from an accredited alarm receiving centre.

Monitored Alarm Systems

In order to connect an alarm system to the police you need to be an NSI or SSAIB approved installer. Contact Security have had this accreditation for over 21 years.

There are many forms of monitoring from basic digital communicators to dual path IP/GSM signalling. See below for an overview:

Digital Communicators - is where your alarm system is connected to an alarm receiving centre via a dedicated phone line. When an alarm is triggered, the alarm receiving centre receives notification and calls the relevant emergency service. A dedicated phone line is usually needed, meaning additional annual rental costs. Should this line be cut or get damaged it may not be immediately detected.

BT Redcare - uses intelligent technology to actively check that your phone line is working and to detect any problems. Line cuts or faults are signalled to the alarm receiving centre within seconds. This tried and tested technology is provided by BT Redcare and was pioneered by BT.

Dual Signalling Paths - one of the most secure forms of alarm
monitoring available. It has the back-up of two paths and is capable of sending a ‘confirmed activation’ to ensure a response from the emergency services, even if the telephone line is cut or damaged. These forms of signalling are provided by BT Redcare and Emizon 21.
