Biometric Security

Control access to your building with an easy-to-use video intercom

The use of Biometrics is emerging as a preferred security method in most industries. Biometrics offer many benefits over traditional security identification methods. By utilising a physical characteristic for identification purposes, it enhances security levels in that the person being identified has to be present. Biometrics also negates the need for tokens, cards and passwords that can be easily lost, forgotten or tampered with.

  • BIOMETRIC SECURITY OFFERS ENHANCED LEVELS OF SECURITY
  • REMOVE THE NEED FOR KEYS, TOKENS, CARDS OR PASSWORDS
  • ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO BYPASS SENSORY SECURITY SYSTEMS
  • BIOMETRICS PROVIDE AN UPGRADE FROM CONVENTIONAL LOCKS

What are Biometrics?

Biometrics in security terms are methods used to authenticate the identity of a person based on physiological or behavioural characteristics. The most well known method is fingerprint identification.

Biometric Fingerprint Readers work by producing electrical currents when they scan a user's physical characteristic. Sensors contain an analogue to digital converter enabling it to digitise the image and store the digital information in memory so that it can verify the user next time he/she needs to authenticate their identity. The added security that comes with fingerprint access control is an important reason why many homes, institutions and corporate facilities choose biometric sensory locks for their security systems.

What are the benefits of Biometrics?

At Contact Fire and Security we offer Biometric solutions which benefit your access control system and can help to keep accurate staff time and attendance records. All our systems are linked into an Access Control System PC Interface to manage and control access to you building/room.

Biometrics
  • It's nearly impossible to forge fingerprints & bypass sensory security systems. Sensors provide an upgrade from conventional locks.
  • The scanners can replace long lists of passwords that can often change or be lost and stolen.
  • They can also serve as a digital time clock to keep track of employee attendance through a simple process.
  • Reduction in costs from avoiding having to replace expensive ID badges and magnetic security cards.
